Towns and cities seem to primarily pull their zombie spawns from the "biomes" they're located in, and the Hub City was, for the most part, the only place unique in that respect. As for organic city generation, simply have it ignore the Hub City, let the Hub City look as square and ugly as ever if it saves on work.įor those that want to tell me to do it myself, by all means tell me how, I spent the weekend sifting through the "rwgmixer" file and reading up on other people attempts, trying to get a city of similar size and density to be generated, even using the previous version of the rwgmixer as a guide (silly I know) and then the "entitygroups" and "spawning" files to recreate tougher enemies appearing in towns and cities, but again to no avail. It WAS done, the Hub City as it existed in A15 is what I'd be happy with. I do, always, max zombie difficulty, 25% loot spawn, max enemy spawning (which has now been removed, damn you Fun Pimps!) and zombies aggression set to feral (meaning they can "smell" you more effectively, also now removed in A16) oh AND I played in Ironman mode, 1 life, 1 death, no player respawning, my record was 37 days.įor those that say it can't be done, or is too difficult for the devs to waste time on. Please Fun Pimps, bring back the Hub City so players looking for greater challenge can go somewhere particularly dangerous to truly live! :)įinally, I have to say these points because there are always "those" people.įor players that dispute the relevance of the Hub City, clearly this post is not for you, anyone playing on a lower difficulty will always dispute the need for a higher difficulty and vice versa.įor those that say I should simply increase the games difficulty. I quickly decided to make it my mission to set up a base in the Hub City by day 3, and I have never had so much fun in the game, even making a YouTube series around the theme, but without the Hub City, the game (to me) feels hollow again. I, on the other hand, got bored of the routine and would have stopped playing if not for finding out about the Hub City. This place was end game town, you came here when you got bored of the cycle of mining/building/re-building for horde night, then the ensuing weekly cluster ***k for 15 or so minutes then back to mining/building/re-building for horde night. And yes, A16 CAN have a city at coordinates 0,0 but it is not THE Hub City, it may even be as large as the Hub City (though unlikely) it may even be as densely packed as the Hub City (even less likely) but it is not crawling with high level enemies. 95% of the time the city could be found within gun shot of the maps coordinates 0,0 (and I say 95% of the time because although I have never NOT found the Hub City around 0,0 I've heard others haven't been able to). Within the city limits the above mentioned zombie types would spawn as well as your run of the mill zombies, and to top it off the game had the city play an eerie music track to set the mood. Maybe a little context is due before I get ahead of myself, for those that don't know, the Hub City was a tightly packed urban sprawl laid out in approximately 4圆 blocks with each block potentially having 4 buildings in it. But it would be nice if you could delete the old maps. Please Fun Pimps bring back the Hub (Central/Capital) City and all that comes with it, spider zombies, cops, wasps (now vultures) dogs, and ferals roaming the streets, claustrophobic city blocks with buildings densely packed and deadly enemies potentially around any corner. It can be left like it is, since it links to this forum. The comment on the wiki is not from me, but a user that used the old map there changed it. I've also posted on the user account on the wiki to ensure you get the message (if both accounts are indeed yours). The full-size map would be useful if you could upload your latest using this link If the comment regarding credit for the image creator is from you I see no problem including the credit statement on the file page but I hope you understand that each time the image file is transcluded in an article, credit won't be included unless the editor does so manually.Īlso, the image we have on the wiki is only a thumbnail at 120 × 115 pixels.
